Young. Adventurous. A little cynical. There’s nothing better than feeling 20-something and invincible. But when you find your 20-something self stuck right smack dab in the middle of Nebraska, it’s easy to run out of things to do on a Friday night. That’s where BORED IN THE USA comes in. Today sucks, but it doesn’t have to.
After scoping out event and entertainment listing websites for the Lincoln, Nebraska area, I realized a few things. One, the sites were hard to navigate and essentially dumped way too much information on the visitor all at once, with no way to narrow it down. And two, it was boring! Trying to utilize the Lincoln Visitor’s Beureau website to find something to do that night was both frustrating and not very fun.
BORED IN THE USA is a website concept that began with a general idea to create something fun, easy to use, and targeted at a young, college-aged audience.
BORED IN THE USA is a website concept that sprang from my love of Lincoln, Nebraska and my desire to create an events portal that could be informational and also not take itself so seriously.
